The fauna present in the park is one of the most spectacular attraction. In summer, in the pasturages above the tree-growth limit of the forests, visitors can easily observe the chamois, and with a little more luck, also deer, while in the forests it is easy to see roes, which are present in numbers of even some thousand heads. Extremely easy is to watch marmots. Another interesting element of the park are birds.
Practically every specie of the alpine fauna is resident in the park at least as a seasonal visitors: from hawks, which is the park's emblem, from spectacular species like the different grouses, etc. to a wide variety of small birds and minor vertebrates (reptiles, amphibians and fishes) which are abundant, same as the extremely rich fauna of invertebrates. |
